What Makes Ghana Rich?

Apart from the fact that Ghana was the first African country to attain independence from colonialist, this pride and identity coupled with cultural heritage has helped unify this country in ways that would have been impossible. Cultural differences may depend on the ethnic group in question, certain things cut across all Ghanaian communities. Analysts think that this unity brought about by culture and respect is probably what makes Ghana so stable and peaceful especially politically.

Understanding the people

The over twenty million population of Ghanaians is ethnically diverse. However, there are three major ethnic groups with numerous subgroups that the people of Ghana identify with. The Akan ethnic group is the major group accounting for over forty percent of Ghana's population. This diversity keep Ghanaians unique and peaceful because even with their differences they have a common ground of mutual respect.  The people of Ghana are generally warm and inviting, which is one thing that makes them special. There should be more relevant facts about this at http://buzzghana.com/.

Religion

Most African countries conflict in this area but Ghana is one of a kind. With almost 70 percent of its popular being Christians and 15 percent Muslims with the remaining minority believing in other deities and traditionalists, it is amazing how no conflict arises in these lines. Although especially the traditionalist worships numerous gods and spirits, no one crosses with others for this reason. It is a constitutional right for every Ghanaian to believe and worship freely the fact that Christianity has influenced many traditions does not make any difference.

Traditions

Originally, Ghana was split into three categories of royals, commoners and slaves. While most of these things remain traditionally, slavery was abolished. Polygamy is legal in Ghana but is only practiced by the very rich in society. It is generally expected that a widow will get married to her husband's brother in order to help with children responsibility. However, most of these practices are no longer enforceable. One thing though about the culture of Ghanaians is the emphasis on hospitality, good manners and formality. Some traditions passed down from one generation to the other and are probably going to remain the same. You may also visit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghana for more information.
